KP Government Strengthens Security at Minority Places of Worship

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Auqaf, Hajj, Religious and Minority Affairs Department has announced enhanced security measures for minority places of worship across the province as part of efforts to improve public safety and strengthen the protection of religious communities.

A performance review meeting was chaired by Atta-ur-Rehman to evaluate the current security arrangements and identify areas requiring further improvement. The session focused on implementing more effective measures to safeguard minority worship sites throughout Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The meeting was attended by senior security officials, including Sajjad Khan, Sanaullah Khan, and representatives from the Auqaf Department, who reviewed the province’s existing security framework.

During the meeting, Atta-ur-Rehman directed officials to equip minority places of worship with modern security infrastructure. The proposed upgrades include the installation of CCTV surveillance cameras, walk-through gates, metal detectors, searchlights, and fire safety equipment to enhance preparedness and emergency response.

The initiative aims to improve the overall security environment for minority communities by ensuring that places of worship are better protected against potential threats. Authorities also emphasized the importance of regular inspections and coordinated efforts between the Auqaf Department and law enforcement agencies.

Strengthening security at religious sites remains a key priority for the provincial government, particularly as public gatherings at places of worship require comprehensive safety planning and continuous monitoring. The latest review reflects the government’s commitment to protecting religious freedom while ensuring the safety of all communities.

Officials are expected to continue evaluating security arrangements and implement additional measures where necessary to maintain a secure environment for worshippers across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
