
The 14th Lahore Open Polo Championship 2025 for the Patrons Cup continued to deliver high-intensity action as the tournament entered a decisive phase at the Lahore Polo Club. On the sixth day of competition, three crucial league matches were played, resulting in Diamond Paints and Master Paints Black confirming their places in the semifinals of the prestigious event.
The championship has maintained strong momentum, drawing a large and engaged audience of sponsors, officials, and polo enthusiasts. The stands featured notable personalities including Patrons sponsor Babar Naseem, AOS Director Hamza Ali Hakim, Master Paints Director Farooq Amin Sufi, Guard Group Director Taimur Ali Malik, The Retro Bar CEO Nafees Barry, and Lahore Polo Club President Malik Azam Hayat Noon, along with members of the Executive Committee and Club Secretary Major Amjad Ghafoor.
The opening match of the day proved to be one of the most dramatic encounters of the tournament so far. Master Paints Black secured their third victory in sudden death, edging past FG/Din with a 6-5 scoreline during extra time in the fifth chukker. Ignacia Javier Bello led the charge for Master Paints Black with an impressive three-goal performance, while Muhammad Ali Malik added two goals and Syed Turab Muhammad Rizvi chipped in with one. FG/Din put up a strong fight, with Juan Cruz Greguoli scoring twice, supported by goals from Sheikh Muhammad Raffay, Malik Ali Kuli Khan, and Agha Musa Ali Khan.
The second match featured Diamond Paints in a tightly contested battle against Rijas/Sheikhoo. Diamond Paints emerged victorious with a narrow 6-5 win, demonstrating composure under pressure. Mir Shoaib Ahmed starred with three goals, while Mir Huzaifa Ahmed contributed two and Raja Jalal Arsalan added one. Rijas/Sheikhoo remained competitive throughout the match, with Mumtaz Abbas Niazi and Mohib Faisal Shahzad scoring two goals each, and Raja Samiullah adding one.
The final match of the day showcased a dominant performance by BN Polo, who defeated Master Paints 9-5. Hamza Mawaz Khan delivered a standout display, scoring eight goals and controlling the tempo of the game. Ibrahim Khalil added another goal for BN Polo. Despite the loss, Master Paints showed resilience, with Ahmed Ali Tawana and Col Omar Minhas (retd) scoring two goals each, and Farooq Amin Sufi contributing one.
With Diamond Paints and Master Paints Black now through to the semifinals, attention turns to the remaining league matches scheduled for today. These fixtures will determine the final standings and set the stage for the knockout rounds, where competition is expected to intensify further.
