Pakistan to Host 14th South Asian Games From April 3 to 11 Next Year

Pakistan is set to host the 14th South Asian Games from April 3 to 11 next year after the South Asia Olympic Council’s executive committee approved the official schedule and confirmed the country’s hosting rights.

The announcement marks an important development for Pakistan’s sporting calendar and is expected to bring athletes from across South Asia together for one of the region’s largest multi-sport events.

The executive committee meeting was held in Islamabad under the chairmanship of Pakistan Olympic Association President Arif Saeed. Representatives from several participating countries attended the proceedings.

Delegations from Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan and the Maldives were present at the meeting, while the Indian delegation participated through a video link.

The approval of the schedule provides greater clarity for athletes, national sports federations and organizers as preparations for the regional competition move forward. Pakistan will now have the opportunity to showcase its sporting facilities and organizational capabilities on a regional stage.

The South Asian Games bring together athletes from South Asian countries across a wide range of sports. The competition provides an important platform for emerging athletes to gain international experience while competing against some of the region’s strongest competitors.
