The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) has released a detailed power suspension plan affecting more than 150 localities on 26 November 2025. The company says the outages are necessary to carry out scheduled maintenance and development work aimed at strengthening the distribution network across Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
According to the IESCO spokesperson, electricity supply will be temporarily suspended from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM in several major sectors of the federal capital, including CDA Office, ADBP, Wapda Colony, Shams, F-7, Sohdran, Koral, Athal, CDA Pump, Melody, Islamabad Club, F-8 Markaz, G-9/1, H-8, New I-11, G-11/3, and F-11/4. Areas on the outskirts such as Bhara Kahu, Bhara Kahu-II, Pindi Point, Beirut, TDCP, PAF, Shahdara, Park View and Golf City feeders will also remain without power during the maintenance window.
Large parts of Rawalpindi will also experience planned outages. Commercial Centre, B Block, Shamsabad, Shaheed Mohammad Deen, Fazaia, KRL, Gangal, Tariq Shaheed, Dhok Hukmdad, Liaquat Bagh, Gulshanabad, Sarafa Bazar, Jinnah Road, Alamabad, Qureshiabad, Asghar Mall, Zeeshan Colony, Tench Bhatta, Race Course, Capt Aamir Shaheed, G-15, Pind Hoon, Benazir Bhutto Shaheed and CDL Colony feeders are all listed for shutdowns during the same time slot.
IESCO officials said the work is part of routine upgrades to ensure system reliability, reduction of technical faults, and improvement in load management efficiency. The company has urged consumers in affected areas to plan their day accordingly, secure backup power if necessary, and avoid unnecessary use of electrical appliances during the outage period to prevent potential surge-related hazards once supply is restored.
The power utility has emphasized that such scheduled maintenance is critical to support the region’s growing electricity demand. With Islamabad and Rawalpindi continuously expanding, the grid requires periodic reinforcement to prevent long-term disruptions and reduce the risk of unplanned outages during peak load seasons.
Residents have been advised to follow official updates through the IESCO helpline, mobile app and social media channels, as timings may shift slightly depending on work progress or weather conditions.
