The Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has launched a strict crackdown on property tax defaulters, taking decisive action against non-compliant property owners across the province. The move is part of a broader effort to improve tax collection and enforce financial discipline.

During recent operations in Abbottabad and Swabi, authorities sealed several commercial and residential units over unpaid property taxes. Officials confirmed that these targeted actions are being carried out under a zero-tolerance policy aimed at recovering outstanding dues and ensuring compliance with provincial tax laws.

The department has warned that further operations will continue in other districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, urging property owners to clear their dues to avoid legal consequences. Defaulters may face penalties, property sealing, and additional enforcement measures if payments are not made promptly.

This intensified campaign highlights the government’s focus on strengthening revenue streams and reducing tax evasion. Property tax remains a critical source of income for provincial development, funding essential public services such as infrastructure, education, and healthcare.

Officials have also encouraged taxpayers to take advantage of available payment facilities and settle outstanding liabilities voluntarily. The department aims to combine enforcement with awareness, ensuring that citizens understand the importance of timely tax payments.

The crackdown is expected to send a strong message across the province, particularly to habitual defaulters who have delayed payments for extended periods. By taking visible action, authorities hope to improve overall compliance and create a more transparent taxation system.

As enforcement measures expand, property owners in KP are advised to review their tax status and fulfill obligations to avoid disruptions. The ongoing drive reflects a growing commitment to accountability and efficient governance in the province.
