Pakistan’s caretaker Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication, Dr. Umar Saif, has affirmed the government’s unwavering commitment to providing quality telecom services to the masses. He made this declaration during a meeting with the Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of VEON, along with CEO Jazz, Aamir Ibrahim.

During the meeting, Dr. Saif emphasized the government’s proactive measures to enhance connectivity across the country. He highlighted the upcoming auction of tech-neutral spectrum, aimed at bolstering telecom services for the public.

Expressing the ministry’s dedication to launching 5G technology, Dr. Saif assured VEON of the government’s unwavering support for the telecom industry. He also announced plans to introduce smart mobile phones on easy installments soon.

Acknowledging Pakistan’s favorable investment climate, Dr. Saif urged Jazz to explore investment opportunities in e-agriculture, e-education, and e-health sectors. He commended VEON for its contributions to the technology domain and its role in providing smartphones.

Echoing Dr. Saif’s sentiments, VEON CEO Aamir Ibrahim underscored the importance of stable telecom systems for fostering a robust digital ecosystem and ensuring the country’s economic stability.

Senior officers from the IT Ministry were also present during the meeting.
