Meezan Bank Reports Rs. 73.94 Billion Profit in Nine Months, Up 7%

Meezan Bank Limited has reported a profit after tax of Rs. 73.94 billion for the nine months ended September 2026, marking a 7 percent increase compared with Rs. 69.33 billion recorded during the corresponding period last year. The financial results, according to Arif Habib Limited, reflect continued growth in the bank’s earnings during the first three quarters of the year.

The bank’s earnings per share (EPS) also improved, reaching Rs. 41.07 for the nine-month period compared with Rs. 38.50 a year earlier. The increase indicates higher earnings attributable to each outstanding share over the reporting period.

Meezan Bank also posted stronger quarterly results, with profit after tax rising by 14 percent year over year to Rs. 25.85 billion in the third quarter of 2026. During the same quarter last year, the bank had reported a profit after tax of Rs. 22.68 billion, based on the reported growth rate.

Quarterly earnings per share increased to Rs. 14.36 from Rs. 12.62 in the corresponding period of the previous year. The improvement in both quarterly profit and EPS highlights the bank’s higher reported earnings during the July-to-September period.

Alongside its profit growth, Meezan Bank maintained its dividend distribution for shareholders. The bank declared a cash dividend of Rs. 8 per share for the third quarter of 2026, continuing its payout to investors.

The cumulative dividend for the first nine months of 2026 reached Rs. 23.50 per share, compared with Rs. 21 per share during the same period in 2025. This represents an increase of Rs. 2.50 per share, or approximately 11.9 percent, in the total dividend declared over the comparable periods.

Dividend payments are an important consideration for investors who monitor listed companies for income as well as earnings growth. However, a company’s dividend distribution alone does not determine the overall return an investor may receive, as share prices can also fluctuate in response to market conditions and financial performance.

Meezan Bank operates in Pakistan’s Islamic banking sector, providing financial services structured around Shariah-compliant principles. Its financial results are therefore relevant to investors following the banking industry, the performance of Islamic financial institutions and developments in Pakistan’s stock market.

The latest figures provide an overview of the bank’s earnings and shareholder distributions through September 2026. Investors evaluating the results may also consider other financial indicators, including income growth, financing quality, operating expenses, deposits and capital strength, when assessing the bank’s overall performance.

The reported increase in nine-month profit, stronger third-quarter earnings and higher cumulative dividends offer several key figures for shareholders tracking the bank’s financial progress. Further details in the complete financial statements can help clarify the factors behind the changes in earnings and the bank’s performance across different business segments.
