The Punjab government has approved a budget of Rs300 million to provide electric bikes and laptops to participants of the Khelta Punjab Games, aiming to support young athletes and encourage sports development across the province. The funds, approved as a supplementary grant, will facilitate the purchase of 980 electric bikes and over 600 laptops for eligible players under 18 years of age.

The electric bikes will be acquired through a Government-to-Government (G2G) model from Wah Industry, ensuring high-quality and reliable vehicles for the participants. The laptops, meanwhile, will be distributed under the Chief Minister Laptop Program, supporting young athletes in both their sporting and academic pursuits.

Officials confirmed that the release of funds by the Punjab Finance Department will initiate the procurement and distribution process shortly. This initiative reflects the government’s commitment to promoting sports and technology among the youth, ensuring that emerging talent receives both mobility and digital access to aid their development.

The Khelta Punjab Games have been a significant platform for young athletes in the province, and this investment is expected to boost participation and performance in various sporting events. By combining mobility solutions and digital tools, the government aims to create a more supportive environment for nurturing future champions.
