Naqvi Unveils Major Incentive Boost for PSL 2026, Taking Pakistan Cricket to ‘New Heights’

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has announced a substantial enhancement in prize incentives for the Pakistan Super League (PSL), aiming to reward excellence on the field while encouraging long-term investment in cricket development. The upgraded rewards structure will come into effect beginning with PSL 2026.

Sharing the update on X, Naqvi revealed that the champions of PSL 2026 will take home an impressive $500,000. The runners-up will receive $300,000, in addition to the standard tournament prize money which will be announced separately.

In a notable shift toward promoting sustainable cricket growth, the PCB has introduced a new award category: a $200,000 prize for the “Best Franchise Contributing Towards Cricket Development.” This incentive is designed to encourage teams to invest in grassroots initiatives, youth training programs and broader cricketing infrastructure.

Naqvi said the revised structure reflects the board’s commitment to elevating the league’s quality while strengthening Pakistan’s cricketing ecosystem. He added that these measures will not only boost competition but also create long-term value for the sport nationwide.

“Let’s take Pakistan cricket to new heights,” Naqvi wrote in his announcement, reinforcing his vision for a more competitive and development-driven PSL.

The move has been widely welcomed by stakeholders, with many viewing it as a positive step toward enhancing franchise engagement, improving player pathways and increasing the league’s global appeal as PSL enters a new era.
