In a thrilling Tuesday at Wimbledon 2025, Taylor Fritz and Aryna Sabalenka emerged victorious after navigating wildly contrasting battles to reach the semi-finals of the grass court Grand Slam.

Fritz, the fifth seed, had arrived in London fresh off title runs in Stuttgart and Eastbourne, and began his quarter-final against Karen Khachanov with similar dominance. After seizing the first two sets 6-3, 6-4, the American looked poised for a routine win. But Khachanov came storming back, claiming the third set 6-1 and breaking early in the fourth.

Just when momentum had shifted, Fritz responded like a true contender. Breaking back immediately, he steadied his game and sealed the match in a tense fourth-set tiebreak, finishing 6-3, 6-4, 1-6, 7-6(4). The win marks his first-ever semi-final appearance at Wimbledon.

Meanwhile, on Centre Court, world number one Aryna Sabalenka found herself in a battle of styles against 37-year-old Laura Siegemund, who delivered a masterclass in slice, drop shots, and vintage finesse. Sabalenka dropped the first set 4-6 and appeared rattled by Siegemund’s unconventional rhythm.

However, the Belarusian turned the tide with brute force and tactical discipline, winning the next two sets 6-2, 6-4. The top seed acknowledged her opponent’s brilliance and admitted she nearly lost belief midway through the match.

Sabalenka now faces American Amanda Anisimova for a place in the final, while Fritz awaits the winner between Carlos Alcaraz and Cameron Norrie.
