New Horizons for Eco-Friendly Commuting
In a bold move toward affordable green transportation, Buraqi Vehicles, a Pakistani EV startup, has launched an electric bike offering a stunning 500 km range on a single charge. Fully designed and assembled locally, this initiative promises reduced operational costs and new entrepreneurial opportunities through dealerships.
Unpacking the Powertrain and Design
Buraqi’s new electric motorcycle boasts:
- A 2kW high-torque lithium-ion motor
- A high-capacity 10.43 kWh NCM battery
Strategically placing the charging system and electronics inside the bike’s tank ensures both space efficiency and component protection. While the bike can withstand splashes, it is not intended for immersion.
Speed, Charging, and Cost Efficiency
With a default top speed of 85 km/h—expandable to over 100 km/h—the bike meets the needs of diverse riders. Features like four ride modes, reverse functionality, and dual disc brakes add to the appeal.
A single full charge costs approximately Rs. 450–500, offering exceptional value for commuters tired of soaring fuel prices.
Accessible Pricing and Entrepreneurial Opportunities
The highest-spec model is available at Rs. 640,000, while the battery alone—sought after for solar applications—is priced at around Rs. 650,000. Buraqi also offers 11 models starting from Rs. 230,000 to suit different rider profiles.
The startup actively invites dealership inquiries, offering extensive support for brand development and service training. This not only empowers business owners but also accelerates EV adoption nationwide.
For heavy users like delivery personnel, cost recovery can be achieved in less than a year, making it a compelling choice for smart investors and commuters alike.
