PM Shehbaz Initiates First Daanish School in Azad Jammu and Kashmir

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s Vision for Education Expansion

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif laid the foundation stone for the first-ever Daanish School in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) during a ceremony in Bhimber on Wednesday. This initiative aims to provide quality education to talented children from underprivileged backgrounds who lack access to modern educational facilities.

Daanish Schools: A Brainchild of Nawaz Sharif

Speaking at the event, PM Shehbaz highlighted that Daanish Schools were originally conceptualized by former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. These schools were introduced in Punjab to empower students from less developed areas whose families couldn’t afford quality education. Today, many graduates from these schools are excelling in key sectors nationwide.

Comprehensive Facilities for Students

PM Shehbaz emphasized that Daanish Schools are a beacon of hope for orphans and children from impoverished families. The students receive free books, meals, and boarding facilities. Separate campuses for boys and girls ensure inclusivity and security.

Future Plans for Education in AJK and Beyond

The prime minister announced plans to establish more Daanish Schools in Neelum Valley and other parts of AJK. Additionally, similar institutions will soon be launched in Gilgit-Baltistan, Balochistan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s merged districts. The federal government will provide full funding for these projects, which are expected to be completed within a year.

Support from Leadership and Stakeholders

PM Shehbaz acknowledged the support of Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir and provincial chief ministers for advancing educational and health initiatives. The Prime Minister of AJK, Anwarul Haq, lauded the project, calling it a “game-changer” for the region. Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Amir Muqam, confirmed that a total of four Daanish Schools will be built in AJK to uplift the region’s education standards.

A Message of Hope for Kashmir

The prime minister expressed solidarity with the people of Occupied Kashmir, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to their freedom and development. He praised the sacrifices of Pakistan’s armed forces in their fight against terrorism, stressing the significance of maintaining peace and stability for national progress.
