Brrr! The city of Quetta, in Pakistan’s Balochistan province, just had its iciest night of the winter. Temperatures plunged to a bone-chilling -5 degrees Celsius! Imagine stepping outside and feeling the kind of cold that makes your breath freeze in the air.

It’s gotten so frigid that water has started to freeze in pipes and on the roads. This isn’t just an inconvenience – it can be dangerous when the roads get slick. A strong, chilly wind is whipping through Quetta, making the temperature feel even lower, and much of the province is shivering through this intense cold wave.

But there’s some good news – after days of heavy rain, the skies over Quetta have finally cleared. That means some sunshine, even if it won’t bring much warmth.

The weekend was stormy, with rain, thunderstorms, and lots of snow across several areas including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, northern Punjab, and Balochistan. Even regions like Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan braced for heavy winter weather.

Authorities are asking everyone to stay safe: bundle up indoors, don’t travel unless you have to, and keep an eye on the weather reports. Emergency teams are standing by, ready to help if the freezing weather causes any problems.
