The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) has announced a two-day power shutdown schedule for October 3 and 4, with electricity supply to several feeders in parts of Islamabad and Attock set to remain suspended for scheduled development and maintenance work.

According to the power utility, the planned outages are linked to ongoing projects aimed at improving road infrastructure and upgrading the electricity distribution network.

The shutdowns will affect selected feeders in the Islamabad, Attock and GSO circles. Consumers in the affected areas have been advised to take the scheduled interruptions into account when planning their daily activities.

IESCO said the temporary power suspensions are necessary to facilitate a number of development projects being carried out in the relevant areas. These include flyover and underpass construction as well as road-widening projects.

The electricity shutdowns will also support the installation of new 11kV feeders. Such work is part of efforts to expand and improve the distribution network and accommodate changing electricity demand in different areas.

In addition, electricity poles and other power installations will be relocated where required to support ongoing infrastructure development.

The coordination between road development projects and electricity infrastructure is necessary when construction activities affect existing power installations. Temporary shutdowns allow technical teams to carry out relocation and related work while maintaining safety during construction.

For consumers, scheduled outages can cause temporary disruption to household routines, businesses and other activities that depend on a continuous electricity supply. Advance information about the shutdown schedule can help affected users make alternative arrangements.

The duration and location of interruptions will depend on the specific development and power infrastructure work being carried out in each area.

IESCO’s announcement covers October 3 and 4, with the affected feeders located within its Islamabad, Attock and GSO operational circles.

Consumers in areas covered by the schedule should remain prepared for temporary electricity interruptions during the announced work. Businesses and households that rely on electrical equipment may also need to plan accordingly.

The planned shutdowns are part of broader infrastructure activities involving both electricity distribution improvements and major road development projects. Once the required work is completed, the affected power installations and feeders are expected to resume normal operations according to the utility’s schedule.

Residents can continue to monitor official IESCO updates for any changes to the announced shutdown arrangements or additional information regarding affected areas.
