Quetta Gladiators' Mohammad Amir targets IPL in 2026

Pakistan pacer to captain franchise in its debut T10 campaign starting November 18

Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Amir has been announced as the captain of Quetta Qavalry for their debut season in the Abu Dhabi T10 League, which kicks off on November 18.

The franchise confirmed the news on Thursday, marking a major leadership role for Amir, who has been in strong form across franchise leagues this year.

The Quetta Qavalry are one of the newest entrants to the high-intensity T10 format, joining a star-studded lineup of global franchises that feature several international cricketing icons.

Amir, known for his swing bowling and experience in short formats, expressed excitement at leading the side:

“It’s an honour to lead Quetta Qavalry in their first season. T10 cricket is fast, thrilling, and full of surprises — and we want to make a mark right from the start,” Amir said in a team statement.

The Abu Dhabi T10 League 2025 will feature eight teams battling over a 12-day tournament at the iconic Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium.

The Quetta Qavalry management is expected to announce the full squad lineup and coaching staff in the coming days, with several overseas stars reportedly in final negotiations.
